A BED FOR YOUR SUZUKI
Suzuki is entering the midsize truck business. Launched this past February at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2009 Equator is based on the Nissan Frontier and powered by a 2.5-liter Four (a 4.0-liter V-Six is optional). Both Crew Cab and Extended body styles will be offered. “Truck buyers are a particularly good fit for Suzuki since they’re likely to participate in motorcycle riding, power boating and other lifestyle-oriented activities that fit with our brand identity,” said Mark Harano, president of America Suzuki Automotive Operations. Three concept vehicles were also unveiled. The RMZ-4 (shown) pays homage to the RM-Z motocrossers and features matching graphics, Luzlab headlights, an AMP Research bed extender and 18-inch black-chrome wheels. -Matthew Miles
