FLYIN’ FURIA
NAKED BIKES ARE THE hottest thing going, and the newest addition to this growing niche is Ghezzi & Brian’s latest Moto Guzzi-based creation, the showstopping Furia.
The Italian specialty shop started with its SuperTwin 1100 frame, a steel box-section, single-shock design incorporating the airbox. To this, it mated the VI1 Sport’s fuel-injected, two-valve-per-cy linder, 1064cc, 90-degree V-Twin. Thanks in part to a custom under-gearbox muffler, the engine produces 94 horsepower at 8000 rpm and 72 foot-pounds of torque at 6000 rpm, up significantly from the stock 77 bhp and 62 ft.-lbs.
Suspension is a combination of 41mm Paioli fork and reservoir-equipped Öhlins shock. Brakes are twin discs, with a 420mm rim-mounted rotor up front. There’s little in the way of bodywork, highlight being the forkmounted bikini fairing and dual projector-beam headlights, one stacked atop the other.
Ghezzi & Brian (ghezzi-brian.com) claim a dry weight of 408 pounds and a top speed of 137 mph. Price has not been announced.
