KAWASAKI SUPERBIKE UPDATE
The story on Eddie Lawson's Kawasaki Superbike in the February issue contained a few errors. For the record, Lawson's Superbike was run with different compression ratios at different racetracks. For most Superbike events, the engine had 10.9:1 c.r. For the Riverside endurance race, the engine had 10.2:1 c.r.
The late-season Kawasaki engines in Daytona trim made 150 bhp at 10,250 rpm on Kawasaki’s dyno.
The drive chain used on the bike was a 630 Tsubaki HSL, a sintered bushi self-lubricating, non-O-ring chain.
